50% Glycolic Acid Peel Starter Kit

Directions for Use

1. One Week Before - Discontinue using all retinol products (Retin-A, Green Cream, etc.) including our Retinage product. If you have progressed to using the peel once a month, you may resume use of retinol one week after your peel.

2. Two Days Before -Test and customize the peel. Using the applicator brush, apply a small amount to a small area on the side of your face or chin. Leave on for 20 seconds, unless you experience discomfort or your skin turns red. Rinse with cool water, pat skin dry, and apply Neutralizer with a cotton pad to stop the acid action. If you do not experience discomfort or your skin does not turn red, you can use the product without customizing it. If you need to customize the peel, in a small dish add 2 to 3 drops of Neutralizer to teaspoon of the peel serum. Test again on a different spot. If needed, add more Neutralizer & test again. Adding too much Neutralizer will reduce the benefits of the peel.

DIRECTIONS FOR USING THE PEEL -  Do not use any exfoliating scrubs on your face immediately prior to using the peel.

Step 1 Cleanse. Thoroughly cleanse face of oil, dirt, and makeup with any non-soap product. Soap minimizes the action of the peel. As a non-soap cleanser substitute, saturate a cotton pad with Pre-Peel solution and gently wipe face, avoiding eye area, until dirt no longer appears on a clean area.

Step 2 Apply Pre-Peel. (Skip this step if you used the pre-peel as a cleanser.) Saturate cotton pad with pre-peel and gently wipe your entire face, avoiding eye area.

Step 3 Apply Peel. Put teaspoon of customized peel serum in a small dish or dip brush into peel serum bottle. Using applicator brush, apply a thin layer to your face, avoiding eye area. Do not rub solution into skin. If first time, leave on for no more than 1 minute. Time can be gradually increased up to 4 minutes with continued use of the product. If any part of your skin starts turning red, stop the peel and immediately do the following steps.

Step 4 Rinse Peel. When time is up, quickly rinse off the peel solution with cool water and pat skin dry.

Step 5 Neutralize. Gently, but thoroughly, apply Neutralizer with a saturated cotton pad. You can leave the Neutralizer on your skin or wait a few minutes and rinse. If desired, wash skin with mild soap (i.e., Ivory) and water.

AFTER THE PEEL - Always apply sunscreen before going outside. Follow your normal makeup routine. Wait one full day before using any other glycolic or acid products on your skin and wait at least two full days before resuming the use of scrubs.

Within a few days, you may see some slight flaking on your skin similar to that after a mild sunburn. This is normal, although not everyone experiences flaking. People with oily skin or who regularly use moisturizers, exfoliators, and/or other acid products may not experience any flaking. Glysa Clear Exfoliating Solution or other exfoliators can be used to reduce flaking.

How Often Should I Use the Peel? Once a week for 6 weeks to achieve glowing skin. After 6 weeks, skip 2-3 weeks, then begin using every other week for the next 2 months. After that, use the peel once a month or as needed for special occasions. However, if you have dry skin, you should only use the peel every other week to start and taper down to once a month after 6 weeks. Why? Because over-exfoliation can make your skin more dry, which you don't want to do.

CAUTIONS: Do not use this product on your face more than once a week. Overuse of acid peel products may result in hyperpigmentation of the skin (blotchiness).
